Retired Cornelia Police Chief Rick Darby will serve on a nominating committee to select the next Advocate for the state’s Office of Child Advocate.

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal issued an executive order naming that nominating committee last week.

According to the executive order, the nominating committee is tasked with considering candidates and recommending at least three individuals for the position to the Governor.

There are eight people on the nominating committee.
