Ride Strong Event Leaves This Morning

More than a dozen cyclists will leave Toccoa today and head to Vidalia.

It is the first “Ride-Strong” event.

The riders are going to Vidalia from Toccoa to raise funds and awareness for the Paul Anderson Park and the Paul Anderson Youth Home.

Organizers said the ride honors the legacy of Paul Anderson, who rode a bicycle long distances for the same purpose.

In addition, some of the boys from the Paul Anderson Youth Home will join the Toccoa riders along the route.

As for this morning, organizers said that the community is invited to join them at the Paul Anderson Park in downtown Toccoa today between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. to cheer on the riders as they leave the park and begin making their way south to Vidalia.
