Roads on Stephens Co. Commission Agenda Today

Road work is on the agenda for today’s scheduled meeting of the Stephens County Commission.

The county commission meets at 5:30 p.m. today in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.

During today’s meeting, Stephens County Commissioners are scheduled to consider a bid from Colwell Construction Company, Incorporated for setting base and triple surface treatment on three gravel roads in the county.

Those roads are Freedom Drive/Freedom Court, Wards Creek Road, and Swilling Road.

Work on these three gravel roads is part of the county’s road work plans for this paving season.

Meanwhile, Stephens County Commissioners are also expected to consider a bid from Parker Traffic Markings for the labor, equipment, and materials for the installation of pavement markings on various roads in Stephens County for the remainder of this calendar year.

In a third road related item, the county commission is expected to discuss accepting Sequoia Trail into the county road maintenance system.

Stephens County Commissioners will start today’s 5:30 p.m. meeting with a second public hearing for a new alcohol license for V.K. Management doing business as Happy Food Mart.

Following the public hearing, county commissioners will hold a work session to discuss items on today’s agenda.

The business meeting to vote on agenda items will immediately follow the work session.
