The City of Royston will be hosting the Northeast Georgia Economic Development Symposium next month.

According to Royston Main Street Executive Director Candy Rhoades, this is the first such symposium of its kind in Northeast Georgia and will take place on Thursday, July 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Royston Housing Authority.

Rhoades said the symposium is for the entire 13-county northeast Georgia region.

She said it is being co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and is an excellent opportunity for local businesses as well as area municipal and county governments to get information on what is available to them from the federal government.

“City, County, industrial development authority officials, any businesses are welcome to attend,” Rhoades said. “This is an opportunity to speak with lenders on the State and Federal levels. We will have 15 or so vendors for people to speak with.”

Rhoades said there will also be information on housing loans, as well as experts to speak with you on how to best expand your business.

The symposium is free and open to the public as well.

Again it takes place next month, on Thursday, July 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Royston Housing Authority on Hartwell Street in Royston.
