Royston Unveils Ty Cobb Statue

Hundreds came out Sunday to witness Royston’s unveiling of the Ty Cobb Statue.
While the rains forced the ceremony to move inside of the Royston Library, Mayor David Jordan told the crowd that just like Cobb, they would play ball.
“This is a wonderful day,” said Jordan. “And I think it’s serendipitous that we’re inside this building instead of outside. And the reason why is because this building is built to honor Mr. Cobb, so I think it’s appropriate we’re in here.”
The Mayor also thanked the public as well as all those involved with getting the statue to the City of Royston. The Statue was well received by the public and will now stand on display in front of the Royston Public Library for all to see and enjoy.
