Salvation Army Looking For Donations

The Toccoa-Stephens County branch of the Salvation Army is looking for the community’s help to make the holiday season brighter for some area children.

According to Lt. Melody Moran with the Salvation Army in Toccoa, the distribution for the Salvation Army’s local Angel Tree program is coming up on Friday and more donations are needed.

She said that 150 children are still on the Angel tree as of this week.

“We need the community to help us,” she said.

Moran said people can either just buy items for children of all ages, since items are needed for children in all age groups, or contact the local Salvation Army to get information for a child and purchase specifically for one of the children on the Angel Tree.

Donated items can be dropped off at the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Big A Road or at the Salvation Army office on East Franklin Street.

Anyone with questions should call the local Salvation Army at 706-886-5293.

Moran said that financial donations and volunteers are also still needed.

Again, the phone number for more information is 706-886-5293.
