School Ends For Students Today in Stephens Co.

Today is the final day for students this school year in the Stephens County school system.

Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey said it was a year that brought a lot of change to the school system with the re-structuring of Grades Pre-K through 5 and the closing of Eastanollee Elementary School.

Dorsey said he thinks overall, everything went well over the last year in light of all of the changes.

“I appreciate our staff and all the great things they have done to make what was a big turnover year a very smooth year,” said Dorsey. “We appreciate all the support we have gotten from our parents and our community. We know it has added some toughness on some families, especially those that have large families that have children in multiple schools, but people have been managing it very well.”

He went on to say that the students handled this transition very well and he is pleased with how that all went.

“I have heard several of our teachers talk about how it is the most consistent year they have ever had in instruction with their students,” said Dorsey.

Dorsey went on to say that he appreciates all of the parents, students, and staff in Stephens County for their efforts this past school year.
