SCHS Football Banquet Held

Stephens County High School honors the 2015 Indian football team.

The annual football banquet took place at the Tugaloo Center for the Performing Arts and Stephens County High School Cafeteria last Thursday night.

During the banquet, each player on the varsity and junior varsity football teams was recognized.

This past year, the Stephens County Indians went 8-3 during the football season and made the first round of the AAAA football playoffs.

Stephens County High School Head Football Coach Frank Barden says that this year’s team did a great job and he looks forward to the future.

“I’m just awfully proud of this team and excited about what is coming,” said Barden. “It was an awfully fun year. They were great guys to be around.”

He also praised the seniors’ leadership and the team’s work in the classroom.

Several awards were also presented at last Thursday’s football banquet.

Among those was the AM 630 WNEG Player of the Year award, which went to senior Tyrik Combs.
