SCHS Graduation Tonight

The Stephens County High School Class of 2016 will make its way across the stage tonight and receive its diplomas.

Graduation takes place this evening at Stephens County High School.

It starts at 7 p.m. in the Currahee Arena at the high school.

The decision was made earlier this week to move the graduation ceremony inside to the Currahee Arena because of the high chance of rain in the weather forecast.

Stephens County High School Principal Sandy Steele said that each student will receive nine tickets for graduation for the Arena itself.

Steele said that there will also be overflow seating available in the Tugaloo Center, where people without tickets can sit and watch a live feed of the graduation ceremony.

Also, school officials are asking people not to bring air horns or noise makers into the graduation ceremony, adding that security will be present for the event.

Meanwhile, WNEG will re-broadcast the Stephens County High School Graduation Ceremony on Saturday at 12:05 p.m.
