SCHS Hoops Drops Two On Senior Night

Both the Stephens County Indian and Lady Indian basketball teams lost their final regular season games at the Currahee Arena on Friday night.

First, the Lady Indians took the Lady Trojans of North hall into double overtime before dropping a 47-44 decision.

The two teams were tied at the end of the third period and also at the end of regulation.

Then, both teams scored three points in the first overtime before North Hall outscored the Lady Indians 8-4 in the second overtime period.

Kentasia Trimier scored 23 points to lead the Lady Indians, while Mya Cleveland scored 10 points.

Kaitlan Knight, Cleveland, Trimier, Kapree Pritchett, and Sebria Nicely were all honored during Senior Night activities.

Moving to the boys’ game, North Hall broke open a close game in the fourth quarter and beat the Indians, 58-49.

Tay Jones led the Indians with 15 points and Nunu Walker had 10.

Seniors Tay Jones, Micah Oglesby, and Tyrik Combs were all honored in between games during Senior Night festivities.

Both the Indian and Lady Indian basketball teams will take part in the Region 8-AAAA basketball tournaments starting on Tuesday.
