SCHS Soccer To Raise Funds For EOD Warrior Foundation

The Stephens County High School soccer program will use a game next month to raise funds to help give back to those who have served and are serving our country.

On March 14, part of the ticket proceeds from the Stephens County High School home soccer matches against Lumpkin County will go to benefit the EOD Warrior Foundation.

Stephens County High School Head Boys’ Soccer Coach Derek Demmler said the EOD Warrior Foundation helps active duty and EOD veterans, as well as families of those who were killed or wounded, and also maintains the EOD Memorial.

“EOD stands for Explosive Ordinance Disposal Foundation,” said Demmler. “EOD, these are the guys that get called in for bombs, IED’s, things like that. We are able to have a game this year where we are going to raise some funds to give to this worthy organization that is relatively new, but still doing an important job.”

On March 14, Stephens County will host Lumpkin County in a non-region match and Demmler said not only will part of the ticket proceeds help the EOD Warrior Foundation, but there will also be another special offer that night.

“If your child is signed up for the Stephens County Recreation Department soccer program, they can get in free with a paying adult,” said Demmler. “$1 from every ticket will go to the EOD Warrior Foundation.”

Two Recreation Department soccer players will be able to get in per paying adult.

The March 14 matches between Stephens County and Lumpkin County will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with the Lady Indians, followed by the Indian boys at 7:30 p.m.

Admission will be $5.
