SCHS Volleyball Picks Up First Win

The Stephens County Lady Indian volleyball team picks up its first ever region wins.

Back on September 1, Stephens County hosted its first region matches in the team’s history when Madison County and White County visited Toccoa.

Stephens County lost its first region match to Madison in straight sets, 25-19 and 25-22.

However, the Lady Indians picked up the program’s first region win in the night’s second match against White County as Stephens County took the match in three sets, winning the third and deciding set 25-22.

The Lady Indians then went on to split another pair of region matches this past Tuesday at Chestatee.

In the first match, the Lady Indians lost a three-set match to Johnson of Gainesville, dropping the third set 25-16.

However, Stephens County bounced back and beat Chestatee in the second match in straight sets, 25-19 and 25-23.

The Lady Indian volleyball also dropped four non-region matches over the past couple of weeks, falling to Johnson of Gainesville and East Hall on September 10 and West Hall and Chattahoochee on September 3.

For the season, the Lady Indian volleyball team is 9-22 overall, but 2-2 in region play.

Stephens County travels to Habersham today for a tri-match with Habersham and West Hall.

Then on Tuesday, the Lady Indians return to region play with a tri-match at North Oconee against both North Oconee and Monroe Area.
