Two Stephens County High School wrestlers are on an all-state team heading into the start of wrestling season later this year.

The Down Under Sports Association has recently announced its Georgia 2017 Pre-season All-State team.

Seniors Corey Kindel and Jay Stowe from Stephens County were both named to the team.

Both Kindel and Stowe were state tournament qualifiers last year.

Kindel finished with a 24-7 record last year, while Stowe went 29-9 last wrestling season.

According to Stephens County High School Head Wrestling Coach Rob Stowe, both Kindel and Stowe are in good position to finish their careers with 100 varsity victories.

The Indian wrestling team starts practice on Monday, October 31.

Their first match is set for the first weekend of December at the King of the Mountain tournament in Towns County.
