SCMS Basketball Season Underway

Stephens County Middle School basketball season is underway.

Last week, the 7th grade boys opened the season with two wins.

The 7th grade Rebel boys defeated Rabun County Thursday 44-19.  Ty Nails scored 13 points to lead the Rebels, who led 20-7 after one quarter and 31-11 at the half.

Takias Nails added 8 points on Thursday, while Cayden Maxwell and Malik Combs had 5 points each and Cody Yates and Jaquarion Scott each scored 4 points.

Then on Friday, the 7th grade boys defeated Wilbanks 57-39. 

Ty Nails again led the Rebels with 20 points, followed by Takias Nails with 11 points, Ben Hobbs with 6 points, and Malik Combs and Dawson Sorrells with 4 points each.

The 7th grade boys hit 7 three-pointers against Wilbanks.

Meanwhile, the 7th grade girls lost their first game on the road at Rabun County 41-13.  Treasure Lone, Aliyah Martin, and Kayley Sellers each had 3 points.

Then on Friday, the 7th grade girls defeated Wilbanks Middle School 35-32.  Treasure Lone had 18 points, Kayley Sellers had 9 points, and Kayla Ferreira had six points.

All of the Middle School teams are back in action today.

The 7th and 8th grade boys host Banks County while the 7th and 8th grade girls will travel to Banks County.
