SCMS Football Team Starts Season With Win

The Stephens County Middle School football team is off to a winning start this week.

On Saturday night, the Rebels opened their season by defeating Hart County at the Reservation, 20 to 6.

Rebel running back Mucha Wiley scored all 3 Stephens County touchdowns.

The first was a 14 yard pass reception from Rebel quarterback Elijah Stowe with 7 minutes left in the second quarter.

Then, Stephens County scored again with 2:46 left in the second quarter on a 20-yard touchdown run by Wiley.

The Rebels added a 2-point conversion pass from Stowe to MJ Jones to make the score 14-0.

Stephens County got its final touchdown with 1:22 left in the game when Wiley ran for a 14-yard score.

Hart Co. got on the board on the ensuring kickoff with 1:09 left in the game when Logan Bennett ran it back for a touchdown to make it 20 to 6.

Stephens County improves to 1 and 0 on the season and will play at Madison County this Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
