SCSO Arrests Two For Burglary

Two people face charges after they were allegedly caught in the act of burglarizing a Stephens County residence.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley said that deputies were called to a Hayes Road residence over the weekend after getting a call of suspicious activity.

“Once my deputies arrived on scene, they found two people and arrested them,” said Shirley. “They had not only broken into a storage building, but they had broken into the doublewide mobile home as well.”

The Sheriff’s Office identified the two people arrested as 38-year-old Clinton Patrick Miller and 32-year-old Lacey Sue Blakely, both of Blakely Chappelear Road in Martin.

Shirley said deputies caught Miller and Blakely loading items from the Hayes Road residence into their truck.

The sheriff also alleged that deputies determined that the two suspects had illegally entered the residence as well as out buildings on the property and removed some of the home owner’s personal property.

Miller and Blakely were both arrested and charged with one count each of Burglary-First Degree and Burglary-Second Degree.

Both are being held at the Stephens County Jail awaiting a first appearance bond hearing with the Magistrate Judge.
