Staffing Changes Underway at Links at Lake Toccoa

The Links at Lake Toccoa is in the midst of some staffing changes.

According to Toccoa City Manager Billy Morse, Director of Golf Todd Voyles recently turned in his resignation.

Morse said the city is already moving forward with re-arranging the staff to suit the needs of the facility and find someone to handle the needs the city has with not only the course, but everything else out at Lake Toccoa.

“The Links at Lake Toccoa is a little different place than it was a year ago,” said Morse. “It is not only a golf course, but we have a restaurant. We are soon to be opening an events center. What we are probably going to do is change the staff to meet the needs of the growing entities that are up there. We hope to do that in the next weeks or couple of months.”

Morse said that the city may re-work that Director of Golf position into more of a Facilities Manager that would encompass the course, the restaurant, and the events center.

However, Morse said current staff is being deployed and moved around to ensure that the course continues to be maintained in the necessary ways.

“We are certainly going to make sure we have the key staff in place to keep the golf course in the condition it is in now, which is very good,” said Morse.

Voyles had been the Director of Golf since the city re-opened the Links at Lake Toccoa in 2015.

Morse said that the course and facility are doing well, but adds that the city is always looking to improve them.

“We still need to grow the business,” said Morse. “We would love to have more customers on the golf course, more customers in Ping’s Grill. We have high hopes for the events center.”

He goes on to say he feels that everything is set up to experience that growth.

Morse said these staffing changes are not expected to delay the re-opening of the Reflections Events Center, which is set for April.

There was no reason given for Voyles’ resignation, according to Morse.
