Stephens Co. Commission Holding Called Meeting Today

Stephens County Commissioners will get their new year started with a called meeting later today to handle a number of business items.

County commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. today in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.

During today’s meeting, the county commission will select a chair and a vice-chair for 2016.

Also during the meeting, commissioners are scheduled to re-appoint Beth Rider as County Clerk and Sanders, Ranck, and Skilling as the County Attorney, and also set the time and place for the work sessions and regular meetings for the board for 2016.

The county commission is proposing to keep the meeting times the same, with the first Stephens County Commission meeting of each month taking place at 8:30 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month with the second monthly meeting to be on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

Today’s Stephens County Commission meeting is open to the public.
