Stephens Co. Commission Meets Today

Stephens County Commissioners are meeting this morning for a regularly scheduled meeting.

That meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.

Starting at 8:30 a.m., county commissioners will hold public hearings on amending the alcohol ordinance, as well as a public hearing on planning commission related issues.

After the public hearing, Stephens County Commissioners will move into the work session to discuss items on this morning’s meeting agenda.

Items on the agenda for this morning include consideration of a motion to adopt both the county millage rate and the school board millage rate.

Also, the board is expected to vote on the planning-related issues brought before it at the public hearings.

Stephens County Commissioners will move into the business meeting, where they vote on agenda items, immediately after the conclusion of the work session.

Today’s Stephens County Commission meeting also provides time for public comment.
