Stephens Co. Commission Meets Today

Stephens County Commissioners are expected to consider awarding a number of bids at their meeting later today.

The county commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. today in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.

Among the bids the commission is expected to consider are bids for carpentry work and electrical work at the new fire stations, asbestos abatement at the old Middle School gym, and work on the dome of the historic courthouse.

Also, the Stephens County Commission is expected to consider adoption of a job description for a position of Assistant Administrator.

County commissioners will start at 5:30 p.m. with a work session to discuss the items on the business meeting agenda.

The commission will move into its business meeting immediately following the end of the work session.

Today’s Stephens County Commission meeting also allows time for public comment.
