Stephens County Commissioners will hold a regular meeting and work session later today.

Today’s county commission meeting is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.

Commissioners will start with a work session to discuss items on the business meeting agenda.

Items on today’s agenda include a presentation of Elizabeth Camp Williams Plaque, consideration of a motion to pay Tates Creek Fire Department $5,896 from Prior Year Fund Balance for Fiscal Year 2015 budget, consideration of a number of alcohol beverage control licenses, and consideration of a motion for December 31 to be the last day to accept inert waste at the inert landfill and authorize staff to proceed closure with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division.

Following the work session, the county commission will hold its business meeting to vote on agenda items as needed.
