Stephens Co. Drops Baseball Home Opener

Fueled by an eight-run fourth inning, the Franklin County Lions defeated the Stephens County Indians, 15-7, Wednesday night at the Reservation.

Three Franklin County pitchers scattered eight Stephens County hits, while the Lions had 10 hits.

Konnor Quick led the way for Stephens County with a couple of hits and two RBIs.

Kooper Briley, Bryson Fowler, Houston Mullinax, and Zach Boyd all had RBIs as well.

Boyd also went the first three innings for the Indians on the mound before running into trouble in the fourth.

Aubrey Davis got the win for the Lions.

Catcher Jackson Meadors had three RBIs for Franklin County and Conner Williams also drove in a pair of runs.

Franklin County is 1-0 on the season while the Indians drop to 0-2.

Stephens County’s next game is Friday night at the Reservation against Habersham Central.
