Stephens Co. Grand Jury Issues Indictments

Stephens County grand jurors indict two people accused of stealing from a Stephens County residence last year.

Last week, the grand jury indicted Kimberly Dawn Devault of Eastanollee and James Richard Gibson of Martinez, Georgia.

Gibson was indicted on a charge of Burglary in the First Degree, while Devault was indicted on charges of Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Methamphetamine.

According to authorities, Gibson stole thousands of dollars worth of property from a Shangri-La Drive residence between September 17, 2015 and October 1, 2015.

Then, authorities say Devault was found to be in possession of more than $1,500 worth of that stolen property later in the Fall of 2015.

Devault was also allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine on November 19, 2015.

Elsewhere, Brandy Leigh Handberry and Robert Deandre Handberry, both of Toccoa, were both indicted on a charge of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute.

This charge was connected to a May 2015 drug investigation by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and the Appalachian Regional Drug Task Force.

Meanwhile, Brandy Handberry was also indicted on a charge of Illegal Use of a Communication Facility.

These were part of 21 indictments handed down by the Stephens County grand jury last week on a host of different charges.
