Stephens Co. Hospital Announces Christmas Card Contest Winner

Stephens County Hospital is announcing the winner of its first ever Christmas Card Contest.

Tuesday, hospital officials were at Toccoa Elementary School to make the presentation to the winner of this year’s contest.

Hospital Administrator Ed Gambrell said the contest was something that the hospital wanted to try this year for designing its Christmas card.

“We decided to invite the art students from the fourth and fifth grades at Stephens County’s four elementary schools to participate in drawing our Christmas card for Stephens County Hospital this year and so we had a number of students participate,” said Gambrell. “We had some good drawings, we really did, and we chose a winner.”

That winner is Toccoa Elementary School fifth grader Isaiah Tate, who drew a snowman with a blue background for the winning picture.

Isaiah said it feels great to win.

“I have drawn it before, but I think I made it better this time and that is why I got first place,” said Isaiah.

Besides having his picture used for the hospital’s Christmas card later this year, Isaiah also received a PSP and games from Stephens County Hospital for winning the contest.

Gambrell said that all of the entries will be displayed at Stephens County Hospital.

“We will display all of the entries on what we call the back wall of the hospital, where radiology and lab are,” said Gambrell. “I invite all of the parents and students to come see the pictures.”

Gambrell said that Stephens County Hospital plans to continue the contest in future years.
