Stephens Co. Hospital Welcomes New Year’s Baby

new-years-babyStephens County Hospital’s New Year’s Baby for 2017 has arrived.

John Vianney Albert was born on Tuesday, January 3 at 6:34 a.m. at the New Impressions Maternal Child Unit at Stephens County Hospital.

The baby boy weighs eight pounds and one ounce and is 21 inches long.

His parents are Anna and Paul Albert of Toccoa.

They said they were surprised to find out that John was the New Year’s Baby.

“It is very exciting,” said Anna. “We were not expecting it.”

John is the their fourth child, joining 4-year-old Nathaniel, 2-year-old Therese, and 1-year-old Micheal.

Paul and Anna went on to say that they appreciate everything the hospital does.

“We have had all our kids here,” said Paul. “It has been great. We have three at home, plus John today, making four, and the staff is great. The nursing staff is great. They are just so friendly and helpful, and loving and caring as well.”

They said that their other three children were excited to meet the newest addition to the family.

For having the New Year’s Baby, the Alberts received a gift basket courtesy of the Stephens County Hospital Auxiliary.

Baby John’s maternal grandparents are Eddie and Annette Conrad of Boston, Massachusetts and his paternal grandparents are Nemours and Paula Albert of Boston, Massachusetts.

His maternal great-grandparents are Ann Whitney and John Hanlon of Boston, Massachusetts and his paternal great-grandparents are Charles and Esther Ligonde of Boston, Massachusetts.

The attending physician for the birth was Dr. Tony Castro-Poveda and the attending pediatrician was Dr. Maribel Miller.

The mom’s nurses were Micah Lovingood and Ashley Dunson and the baby’s nurse was Kristen McEntire.
