TFC Basketball Splits Conference Showdown

The Toccoa Falls College Men’s basketball team opens conference play with a win.

Saturday night, the Screaming Eagles picked up a win in their first conference game of the season as they defeated Pensacola Christian College at home, 86 to 74.

TFC led by as much as 25 points in the first half with 59 percent field goal shooting.

Toccoa Falls was led by 18 points by Cam Williams and 12 points each by Zach Barrett and Jovan Morris.

TFC’s men’s record improves to 4 and 9 overall.

In the girls’ game, Toccoa Falls lost to Pensacola Christian, 54 to 32.

The game was close in the first half, as TFC only trailed by 2 at halftime, but poor shooting and turnovers in the 3rd period was too much for the TFC women to overcome.

Toccoa Falls was led by Katie Calloway with 9 points and Beth Brown with 8.

The TFC women fell to 2 and 12 overall.

Both the men’s and women’s teams will be in action Tuesday night at home as they host Georgia Northwestern Tech; the women’s game starts at 5 pm and the men at 7.

Then on Saturday, both the men and women will be in action at home as they host Trinity Baptist College in a conference matchup; the women’s game will start at 1 and the men at 3.
