TFC Organizing Drive to Help Firefighters

Toccoa Falls College is doing its part to help those fighting wildfires in north Georgia, western North Carolina, and surrounding areas.

The school’s Student Affairs department has organized a supply drive for emergency responders and others involved in the firefighting efforts.

School officials said that with a need so close to home, the students of TFC wanted to show their appreciation by helping these dedicated individuals who are diligently working to protect those around us.

The college said it invites Stephens County and other local communities to join us in this endeavor, noting that there are many firefighters and emergency personnel who will be away from their families this Thanksgiving.

Needed items include eye drops, beef jerky, lip balm, crackers, nasal spray, nuts and trail mix, Ibuprofen and Advil, pre-packaged and non-perishable snacks, over-the-counter allergy medication, bottled water, Gatorade, Powerade, and shaving supplies like razors and shaving cream.

Drop boxes to leave donations are located in the Student Center on the campus of Toccoa Falls College and will be delivered to the Georgia Forestry Commission in Clarkesville on a continual basis.

All donated items are for the benefit of firefighters and other emergency responders.

Items will be collected until end of day Tuesday, November 22nd, but efforts may extend further after Thanksgiving if the wildfires continue and the need still exists.
