Toccoa 10-11 Baseball Continues in State Tourney Tonight

The Toccoa 10 and 11 year old baseball All-Stars will try to play their way into the state semi-finals tonight in Cartersville.

Toccoa is 1-1 in pool play after splitting a pair of games over the weekend.

On Saturday, Toccoa came from behind by scoring five runs in the fifth inning to defeat Cartersville 6-4.

Trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Toccoa batted around in the bottom of the fifth, plating five runs on five hits to take control of the game.

Hunter Puntervold led Toccoa, going 3 for 3 with two doubles, two RBIs, and a run scored.

Dawson Roberts added a two-run double, while Dawson Gastley, and Zach Feaster each knocked in runs as well.

On Sunday, Smyrna plated eight runs in the fourth inning to defeat Toccoa 10-0 in four innings.

Smyrna pitching held Toccoa to just three hits in the game by Connor King, Taylor Roach, and Hunter Puntervold.

Seth Jameson also reached base twice for Toccoa and starting pitcher Ian Rumsey pitched two strong innings for Toccoa, allowing just one run and one hit.

Toccoa will wrap up pool play tonight at 8:30 p.m. in Cartersville against Columbus Northern Little League.
