Toccoa Approves Budget Amendments, Receives Financial Report

The city of Toccoa handles some financial housekeeping.

On Monday, the Toccoa City Commission unanimously approved a number of Fiscal Year 2016 budget amendments.

According to Toccoa Finance Director Cathy Loudermilk, the amendments are necessary to adjust each department to bring it in line for the audit.

Loudermilk said auditors are scheduled to arrive to begin work on the city’s audit in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Loudermilk also delivered the city’s monthly financial report on Monday.

In that report, she said that Local Option Sales Tax revenue was down slightly in August compared to last year, but SPLOST VI revenue for August was up from a year ago.

Also, Loudermilk noted that the city’s operating cash was down to $562,903 on August 31, down $80,000 from a year ago at this time, but higher than the three years before that.

She said the city does have over $4 million in cash reserves.

In addition, Loudermilk noted that the city’s water, gas, and solid waste revenues for August were all slightly higher than they were in August 2015.
