The city of Toccoa dedicates two more historic plaques in downtown.

Last Thursday, Main Street Toccoa dedicates two historic plaques at the buildings housing Raybon OB-GYN at the corner of Pond and Doyle streets.

One of the plaques was on the Doyle Street building, which has housed Deluxe Tire and Scarborough’s Men Store before becoming Dr. Raybon’s office.

The other plaque, on Pond Street, is at what has most recently been Cups ‘N Cones.

Prior to that, it was a bakery and sandwich shop.

These were the final two of ten historic plaques in the 2014-2015 series.

The historic plaque program highlights a historic building each month in Toccoa.

Toccoa officials said they are also putting together a walking tour brochure and podcast to accompany all of the plaques to further bring historical awareness to downtown Toccoa.
