Toccoa Harvest Festival This Weekend

An annual Fall tradition returns to downtown Toccoa this weekend.

The 40th annual Toccoa Harvest Festival takes place Saturday and Sunday in downtown Toccoa.

Toccoa Main Street Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby said over 130 craft and food booths will be set up on Doyle Street from Alexander Street to Hill Street.

“We have different vendors here every year,” said Crosby.  “Of course, some of your favorites will be back as well.  It is going to be a great event.  We hope to bring in people from around the region, as well as those locally.  It has become a tradition.  We are just looking forward to a great weekend.”

The hours on Saturday are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Crosby said that on Saturday, there will be a host of other activities besides just the booths.

“We will also lots of activities for the kids,” said Crosby.

In addition, the Stephens County Recreation Department will hold its annual Classic Car Show at the Harvest Festival.

“That is always a big draw,” said Crosby.  “We are excited about that again this year.”

Entertainment and children’s activities will continue on Sunday, when the festival hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Also on Sunday, Crosby said some special guests will also arrive in Toccoa to enjoy the Harvest Festival.

“We are really excited to welcome about 1,000 people coming on an excursion train from North Carolina,” said Crosby.

The Currahee Artists Guild will also have a sale and demonstration at the festival this weekend.
