Toccoa Little League Season Starts

Toccoa Little League starts up another season.

Opening Day festivities took place Saturday, followed by the first day of games.

Teams for divisions from Rookie League Softball and Baseball all the way up through Major League Softball and Baseball marched from downtown Toccoa, up Doyle Street to the Doyle Street Park.

There, they were introduced and lined the field.

Honored on Saturday was nine-year-old Skylar Phillips, who served as this year’s grand marshal.

Also, Toccoa Little Leagued honored its 12-year-old captains, as well as last year’s Rookie League Baseball and Softball teams, which both won district titles.

Toccoa Mayor Jeanette Jamieson threw out the first pitch and the season was underway, with games taking place all day on Saturday.
