Toccoa Police Investigate Cell Phone Theft

The Toccoa Police Department is investigating a theft of cell phones from a local business.

Toccoa Police said that the theft occurred at Wal-Mart in Toccoa at about midnight on Wednesday.

According to the police report on file, an individual identified only as a black male took 31 smart phones from a display case located inside the store.

The report stated that the suspect used a pry bar to open the display case and then put the phones into a suitcase and left the store.

The phones taken are valued at around $14,000.

Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell said that police have been told that this same individual is believed to have committed similar crimes at other Wal-Mart locations in surrounding areas.
