Toccoa Police Investigating Sunday Armed Robbery

Toccoa Police are investigating a weekend armed robbery at a city convenience store

According to Chief Tim Jarrell, the Toccoa Police Department responded to the Valero station on Big A Road on Sunday morning after receiving a phone call.

“At approximately 7:44 a.m. (Sunday), the police department received a call that an unknown male subject had entered the business wearing a ‘Scream’ character mask, dressed in all black, including gloves, had pointed an automatic black in color handgun at the clerk and demanded money from the register,” said Jarrell. “The clerk cooperated and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.”

Jarrell went on to say that the suspect fled the scene.

“We asked for assistance from Habersham County with a tracking dog,” said Jarrell. “We were unable to locate a track. However, we did have some witnesses that came up and gave us some information as far what they knew and had seen. We do have a person of interest. However, we have not made an arrest.”

Jarrell said nobody was hurt during the incident.

He said the investigation is active and ongoing.
