Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

A traffic stop leads to two drug arrests in Stephens County.

It happened last Thursday at about 4:50 a.m. on Big A Road.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley said deputies stopped a vehicle for having a suspended registration.

Shirley said both the driver and passenger became very nervous and talkative.

He added that the driver told the deputy there was nothing in the vehicle and invited him to search it.

According to the sheriff, deputies did just that and found drugs and drug related objects.

Shirley said the driver of the vehicle, 40-year-old Wesley Brandon Terrell of Toccoa, and the passenger, 19-year-old Destiny Combs of Alto, were both arrested.

Both were charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Related Objects.

Combs was also charged with Possession of a Schedule One Controlled Substance.

Meanwhile, Terrell was also charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Registration, and Driving Without a License.
