Two teenagers are behind bars in Banks County charged in connection with a weekend armed robbery.

It happened Sunday night at about 7:49 p.m. at a residence on Grove Level Road.

Banks County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Sergeant Carissa McFaddin said when deputies arrived they were told by the residents of the home that two suspects had stolen cash and a black Toyota passenger car.

“As deputies were responding to the area, the vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle was observed on Grove Level Road,” McFaddin said. “At exactly 8:01 p.m., deputies attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver fled to Hembree Road where they were met by another deputy. The driver then stopped and both suspects surrendered.”

McFaddin said both suspects were juveniles from the Homer area.

She went on to say that an investigation revealed both teens knew their victims and the suspects brandished a .22 caliber handgun during the commission of the alleged robbery.

Both the suspects have been detained.

Their names have not been released because they are juveniles.
