Two-Vehicle Accident Takes the Life of a Lavonia man

Names and details have now been released in an accident that took the life of a Lavonia man Sunday night.
According to a report from Georgia State Patrol, James Scott Bowers, 35 of Lavonia was driving a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire north on GA 106 near Trinity Methodist Church when he crossed into the southbound lane of GA 106, colliding with a 2005 Coachmen Sport Coach driven by Tommy Carl Alldredge, 67 of Hayden, Alabama.
Alldredge attempted to swerve and miss Bowers, causing the RV to travel down the embankment on the side of 106, overturn and come to a rest on its side.
Bowers was pronounced dead as a result of the accident, Alldredge and both passengers of the RV,  68-year-old Brenda Alldredge and 48-year-old Kelly Alldredge Russell were transported by EMS to St. Mary’s in Lavonia to be treated for injuries. No charges have been filed in the incident at this time.
