The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will conduct its monthly counseling workshops for veterans in Cornelia and Toccoa this week.
The Cornelia event will be held Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Georgia Department of Labor’s Habersham Area Career Center, located at 215 Hodges Street in Cornelia.
Meanwhile, the Toccoa event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Georgia Department of Labor’s Toccoa Career Center, located at 37 Foreacre Street in Toccoa.
Edward Robbins, a veterans outreach representative at the Lawrenceville VA Center, will conduct the workshops.
The Georgia Department of Labor said the workshops will continue to offer a wide-variety of counseling services, including post-traumatic stress disorder, alcohol and drugs, bereavement, marital and family problems, along with assistance in applying for Veterans Affairs benefits.
Also, the state Labor Department said its staff will be on site to assist the veterans with resume critiquing, employment counseling and job referrals.
Veterans should bring valid identification, including military ID cards and driver’s licenses, along with their resumes.
