Visitors Touring Toccoa for Spring Ramble

Don’t be alarmed if you see some strangers wandering through downtown Toccoa and around neighborhoods this weekend.

They are visitors to Toccoa taking part in this year’s Spring Ramble.

Sponsored by the Georgia Trust for Preservation, this year visitors will be touring more than 50 historic homes and sites in Toccoa, Gainesville and Clarkesville over the weekend.

Toccoa Main Street, spokesperson Sharon Crosby said on Friday the visitors will be taking a tour of the City and its sites.

“They will be visiting 16 different places here. Not only the historic houses, but Travelers Rest, Toccoa Falls, and the Museums,” said Crosby.

Crosby said they will also be touring historic homes in the town of Martin.

Tours of historic homes and buildings are self-guided, and guests provide their own transportation.
Maps and programs are provided at a designated packet pick-up.
Rambles typically attract hundreds of participants per event and are offered two weekends each year in the spring and fall.
Other recent Rambles have included the Golden Isles, Athens and Lexington, Americus, Marietta and Madison, Georgia.
