Volunteer Fire Depts. Recognized at County Commission Meeting
A woman thanks Stephens County volunteer firefighters in a letter sent to county commissioners.
Stephens County Commissioner Dennis Bell mentioned the letter during Tuesday’s county commission meeting.
In the letter, the woman said that Tates Creek, Carnes Creek, and New Hope Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a fire in front of her house on Homer Road back on April
The woman said that she feels without the efforts of the fire fighters, her home and possibly nearby homes would have burned as a result of this brush fire.
Stephens County Commissioner Dennis Bell said it is important to recognize all of the volunteer firefighters for the important service they provide.
“I just want to make it known how important our volunteer fire departments are to this county,” said Bell. “They do not get the thanks they should.”
The other county commissioners echoed Bell’s sentiments.
