Addison named County Marshal

­­Tony Addison was recently named Marshal for Stephens County.

In this role, Addison will serve the community through enforcing various County codes and ordinances, along with assisting Magistrate Court as a bailiff, and supervising dispossessions issued by the Magistrate.

Phyllis Ayers, county administrator, told WNEG News about Addison being named as Marshal.

Ayers will be responsible for patrolling county areas and inspecting various sites to determine compliance with codes and ordinances relating to environmental protection, illegal dumping, burning, improper erosion, sedimentation control, scrap tires, mobile home/building permits, or other code enforcement issues; he will also respond to complaints of potential code violations.

Addison is a resident of Stephens County and brings with him 30 years of law enforcement, civil and criminal, and road experience.
