Anderson Updates Hospital Authority on Different Projects

Stephens County Hospital is moving forward with the addition of two new physicians to its group.

Hospital Administrator Lynne Anderson updated the Hospital Authority on the additions of Dr. Jim Wade and Dr. Chris Vaughn at the Authority’s regular monthly meeting on Monday.

Anderson said that everything remains on track to add both physicians to the hospital’s physicians group in the next couple of weeks.

“That will be effective November 1,” said Anderson of the transition, adding that Dr. Wade will be located next to Dr. Pinkerton’s office, while Dr. Vaughn will stay where he is in his current office.

Anderson said the goal is to make the switch for the physicians as seamless as possible so that there is little to no effect on their current patients.

Stephens County Hospital had announced earlier this month that they were adding the two physicians as part of a plan to eventually add 6 or 7 physicians to the hospital’s physicians group as the hospital looks at ways to increase revenue and find new revenue sources after reporting an estimated $4 million loss last fiscal year.

According to Anderson, another thing that she will be organizing in the next several weeks are some employee forums.

She said that with the hospital’s finances in the news, these forums are going to be designed as a way to keep employees updated on things that have been and are happening.

“We will talk about that (finances), plus other strategic things we have going on,” said Anderson. “Things we are working on, just have employees involved in.”

Anderson did not specify dates for those yet, but does say they will be coming up in the near future.
