Authorities Arrest Third Suspect in June Home Invasion

The third suspect in a home invasion last month on Talmadge Drive is under arrest.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley said that investigators from his department worked with deputies from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in apprehending 27-year-old Richard Casey Harrelson of Double Springs Road in Demorest.

Shirley said Harrelson was located at an apartment in Baldwin and was arrested without incident.

The sheriff went on to say that while deputies were arresting Harrelson, they discovered and seized a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.

Harrelson is currently being held at the Habersham County Jail on a felony probation warrant and drug charges that stemmed from the arrest.

He faces an Armed Robbery charge in connection to a June 14 home invasion in Stephens County in which money, prescription pills, and other items were allegedly taken from the home.

Shirley said the other two suspects in that armed robbery, 20-year-old Deshawn Houston of Winder and 29-year-old Samuel Dustin Littleton of Toccoa, have been denied bond and are still at the Stephens County Jail.

The sheriff said he thanks the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Department of Probation and Parole, and the United States Marshal’s Office Fugitive Task Force for all of their assistance with apprehending the suspects in this incident.
