Banks Co. Officials Asking Some Residents Not To Use Water in Hwy. 105 Area

Banks County officials have issued a warning for residents on Highway 105 whose water service was interrupted Sunday: do not use any water for drinking, cooking, hand washing or bathing until further notice, accessnorthga.com is reporting.

According to the accessnorthga.com report, a water main and natural gas line rupture in the area of Spring Road in Banks County allowed natural gas to enter the Banks County Water System main at the corner of Georgia Highway 105 and Spring Road.

Accessnorthga.com reported that the Georgia Environmental Protection Division and Banks County Water System urge water customers to heed the “do not use the water” warning, as failure to do so may result in illness, adding that no revised timetable has been given for restoration of water service.
