Board of Education Approves 2017 Tax Millage Rate

The Stephens County Board of Education approves the 2017 tax millage rate during their work session and called meeting last night.

Superintendent Bryan Dorsey said this means a drop in the amount of taxes to be collected.

“This is where we have rolled back to 17.3 mills, which is almost a 5.5 percent drop in the amount of taxes that we would be collecting,” said Dorsey.

The board’s next meeting is Tuesday, July 18 at 5:30 p.m.
