Chamber of Commerce Holds Board Planning Retreat

The Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce held their 2017-2018 Chamber Board Retreat yesterday at Ping’s Grill.

According to Chamber President Julie Paysen, the board of directors gathers each year for this retreat to plan for the next year and reflect on the last one.

“To just look forward, to reflect on what we’ve done in the past year, what has worked, what hasn’t worked and what we could do to make things go more smoothly or be a better service to our members,” said Paysen. “Then looking forward, to what our goals are for the following year and how can we better meet the needs of our community. We’ve got a lot on the calendar for next year that I think we’ll be a great service and community events to bring us together to celebrate Toccoa-Stephens County.”

The board also discussed their financials and goals for the upcoming year, which Paysen says are in good standing.

“We’ve got a good run year to date through today,” said Paysen. “Things are looking very positive for this year. It’s been a year of hard work. We made some changes in our accounting, keeping more in house so we have good tabs on exactly where everything is, so it’s been a great year for the Chamber of Commerce.”

Paysen said the chamber is looking to add new events next year and will take the board’s ideas and opinions into consideration.
