Collins Introduces FILM Act

Last week, Congressman Doug Collins introduced the Facilitating Investments in Local Markets Act or FILM Act with co-sponsor Congressman Joe Crowley from New York.

The FILM Act recognizes the economic impact of the production industry and extends the tax provision that allows production companies to write-off the first $15 million of a domestic production immediately. The bill also gives an immediate $20 million write-off for firms that base their productions in distressed communities.

Collins said he introduced this bill because he believes it’s important to keep production companies’ investments here at home, rather than going overseas, especially with the growing film industry here in Georgia.
