Cosmetology SkillsUSA Students Honored for Achievements

The Stephens County Board of Education was presented with funds from the McCay Hayes Fund at last night’s meeting.

Spokesman for the fund said that the fund has been around for almost 70 years and was started by local graduate Pope Brock to honor his tutor Walter McCay and the librarian at Eastanollee High School Daisy Hayes.

The fund is to promote education in Stephens County at Eastanollee schools through the library. Now that there are no more schools in Eastanollee, the fund is distributed equally to the media centers in each of the schools.
