County Commission to Adopt Millage Rate Tonight

The Stephens County Commission is holding the third public hearing on the property tax increase, two other public hearings, a work session and regular meeting tonight.

Following the public hearing on the property tax, the board will consider the adoption of the county millage rate at 14.91 mills, which is a 1.5 increase from the previous year.

The other two public hearings being held tonight include one on planning and zoning and the other on amending the land use ordinance for the agriculture intensive district.

The work session and regular meeting will take place after the hearings.

The first hearing begins at 5:30 in the Stephens County Historic Court House.
