Delayed Harvest Streams Opening Up

Five designated delayed harvest streams are opening for their seasons today.

One of those is in northeast Georgia.

That is a portion of the Chattooga River from Georgia Highway 28 upstream to the mouth of Reed Creek on U.S. Forest Service land bordering South Carolina.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources said this and the other delayed harvest streams are restricted to artificial lures with one single hook.

According to the DNR, anglers must possess a current Georgia fishing license as well as a trout license to fish.
